The Student Council is an elected body that represents the student community and provides opportunities for student leadership and participation in university life. Its mission is to serve as the voice of the student body, communicating students’ views, suggestions, concerns, and complaints to the University administration.
Undergraduate and graduate students from all academic programs are welcome to apply to run for election. Interested students should submit an application expressing their desire to serve and outlining their vision and proposed initiatives for students.
Each year, students elect 15 at-large members to serve a one-year term. Following the election, Council members meet to select a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer from among their membership.
