The Department of Communication at Fujairah University organized a specialized training workshop titled “Podcast Production Skills”, targeting students enrolled in the Audiovisual Production and Public Relations Material Production courses, as part of the university’s efforts to enhance the practical aspects of its communication and media programs.

The workshop was presented by media expert Ruwaid Al Samarrai from Fujairah Radio, in the presence of a number of students. Al Samarrai discussed the concept and importance of podcasts in the modern media landscape, explaining its different stages — from idea selection and script preparation to recording and audio editing, and finally publishing on digital platforms. The workshop also included practical exercises that enabled students to produce short podcast episodes using recording and sound editing tools.

During the session, Al Samarrai emphasized the significance of podcasts as a modern media tool that strengthens institutional communication with audiences and contributes to building a positive public image.

For his part, Dr. Roubin Kabha, professor of Audiovisual Production at the college, noted that the workshop is part of the course plan designed to provide students with hands-on skills in sound and media production.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmed Kamel, professor of Public Relations Media Production, highlighted that integrating technical skills with strategic communication approaches is a key foundation for preparing public relations students to meet labor market requirements.

At the conclusion of the workshop, students expressed their appreciation for this practical learning experience, which allowed them to learn directly from media professionals. They affirmed that such initiatives play a vital role in refining their skills and enhancing their readiness to work in specialized media fields.
