The Department of Nursing at the College of Dentistry and Health Sciences at Fujairah University concluded Healthcare Simulation Week from 23 to 24 September, with wide participation from students in health and non-health majors, as well as faculty and administrative staff. The event formed part of the University’s efforts to promote a culture of safety and enhance rapid-response skills across the campus community.
The program featured a series of hands-on activities, including a “CPR Saves Lives” workshop, an interactive CPR training kiosk, and team dynamics competitions that highlighted collaboration and effective communication among participants. The “Stop the Bleed” simulation drew notable interest through practical training in hemorrhage-control skills, alongside virtual reality (VR) scenarios that tested decision-making under pressure, and “Airway Avengers” stations to refine airway-management techniques. The energy, engagement, and friendly competition throughout the sessions reflected the University community’s commitment to patient safety and excellence in simulation-based education. The event also coincided with the global observance of Healthcare Simulation Week 2025.
Among the key outcomes of Healthcare Simulation Week were strengthening students’ readiness in essential lifesaving skills through hands-on CPR practice and self-directed kiosk-based learning, and enabling participants to apply internationally recognized Stop the Bleed protocols for rapid bleeding control.
